TDOT announces weekend lane closures as part of Phase 2
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Drivers traveling through the I-75 at I-24 interchange should prepare for delays due to scheduled road construction.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced weekend lane closures as part of the ongoing Phase 2 project.
Starting Friday, March 7, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. through Monday, March 10, 2025, at 6:00 a.m., crews will close the right lane on I-75 South from State Route 153 (SR 153) to the bridge over the CSX railroad.
Additionally, traffic merging from the SR 153 South ramp onto I-75 South will be required to yield before entering the highway.
I-75 North will not be impacted by this phase of construction.
This work, which involves repairing damaged concrete roadway slabs, is expected to continue over the next six weekends.
Drivers should anticipate significant delays and consider using alternate routes to avoid congestion in the area.
TDOT urges motorists to follow all posted signage, remain alert to shifting traffic patterns, and plan for extended travel times during construction periods.
