Teacher Shopping Day

This weekend, the Hamilton County Council of P-T-A’s held their second shopping day at their teacher supply depot.

Public school teachers in Hamilton County had 30 minutes to collect as many items as they wanted.

Teachers came prepared with buckets, bags, and an idea in mind of what they needed.

A first time shopper says this event is a tremendous help.

"This is my very first time here and I came very prepared with many bags and I am excited to get all sorts of free school supplies. This is wonderful for teachers," says Christy Proia.

Donna Horn, Vice President of the Hamilton County Schoolboard District 7, says, "Teachers are constantly reaching into their own pockets to provide the things that the kids need in the classroom and it gets really expensive. This is like christmas to them."

Several businesses including Top Flight, Walgreens and Publix helped make the event possible.
