Tenn. attorney general: Bathroom bill violates Title IX
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — According to a report with CBS-affiliate WTVF, the attorney general for Tennessee says the bathroom bill violates Title IX.
The bill would require transgender students to use the bathroom and locker room that matches the sex on their birth certificate, instead of the gender they identify with.

The attorney general says Title IX protects transgender students’ access to restrooms and locker rooms consistent with their gender identity.
That’s why the attorney general says if the bill is enacted, public schools could lose federal funding.
