Tennessee Air Guard lands massive refueling plane

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – Congressman Scott DesJarlais reports that the Tennessee Air National Guard 134th Air Refueling Wing has won a major new craft.

The KC-46 Pegasus is a massive refueling and military transport aircraft that is based on the Boeing 767 jet liner.

The Air Force flew one around the world, non-stop in 45 hours.

The Tennessee Guard had to build a hangar big enough to house the Pegasus.

“The 134th Air Refueling Wing won this based on merit—that is something we are all incredibly proud of. This is a testament to their outstanding military professionalism and unwavering commitment to mission readiness,” said Rep.  DesJarlais.

Congressman DesJarlais says he worked more than two years to help land the plane in Tennessee.
