Tennessee Aquarium Begins Peak Light Replacement Project
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Tennessee Aquarium started its first day of renovations for its newest project today, October 21st. This new project is set to replace the LED lights that are placed at the peaks of the aquarium buildings.
As the construction and renovations commence, you may be able to look up during the day and catch some of the action with professionals harnessed and rappelling as they navigate the slanted and vertical surfaces of the buildings.
The peaks, which stand roughly 143 feet above the city, are going dark during the update of the lighting system.
The current lighting was installed back in December 2019, but it is being replaced due to facing reliability issues throughout the years.
The upgraded light system will be set to illuminate not only the beautiful architecture of the aquarium, but also the Chattanooga Skyline.
This project is expected to continue throughout the remainder of the year and workers will complete their work only in daylight, favorable weather, and will have extra safety precautions to ensure maximum safety.
