Tennessee Aquarium has fun events for students and sweethearts this month

Tennessee Aquarium’s Alison Pryor returns to talk about new offers to college students, summer camp, date night at the Aquarium, and upcoming IMAX releases.

CHATTANOOGA. Tenn. (WDEF) – Tennessee Aquarium is offering fun activities for students and sweethearts this February.

While it’s warmer this week, it’s never too early to get ahead on summer plans. Registration for their summer camp is now open for registration. The aquarium offers summer camps for ages 4 to 16, with half-day camps for kindergarteners. The camps are 3 to 5 days of fun with weekly themed activities. Campers will get to meet ambassador animals and get behind the scenes looks at their conservation work. The Tennessee Aquarium offers scholarships, with the application deadline on February 28.

For the older kids, the Tennessee Aquarium is offering discounts to college students and faculty for their College Days promotion running through February 20, except on Saturdays. Students and staff can receive half off admission when purchasing their tickets in person. Eligible guests will just need to show a college ID, transcript, or pay stub for proof. The promotion also applies to the entire party of the student or faculty member.

For the sweethearts looking for a date night idea, the Tennessee Aquarium has brought back their Nightlife event once again. This year’s event is called “Love Languages of the Ocean.” The event is after hours and restricted to guests 21 and up. Two drinks are included with the ticket. Guests will get to walk through the Ocean Building and experience unique Valentine’s Day themed activities and demonstrations. The Nightlife event tickets are on sale and takes place on Friday, February 7.

Several new movies are coming to the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX theatre. Guests will get a chance to bang their heads to banging loud music with the Becoming Led Zeppelin film which is only showing from February 6 – 12. The documentary takes a look at archival footage and modern interviews to show the band member’s career progression. Captain America: Brave New World is spinning into the IMAX which features Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson stepping into the renowned role as Captain America.
