MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Monroe County deputy arrested a Madisonville man for a DUI after seeing him driving with no tires.

Sunday night, the deputy witnessed the car without tires sending sparks everywhere, according to Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones.

Sheriff Jones identified the driver as Dylan Patterson, who was headed toward the city of Madisonville when the deputy stopped him.

Car parts hit the deputy’s car as he attempted a traffic stop, the sheriff added.

Once stopped, Patterson told the deputy someone had run him off the road. He said he may have also struck property in the Rocky Springs area.

Patterson also admitted to drinking more than one bottle of whiskey, Sheriff Jones said.

Authorities charged him with driving under the influence, operating without a driver’s license, no insurance and violation of registration.

Sheriff Jones says if you found new damage on your property in the Rocky Springs area this morning, you should contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. They will determine if this incident caused that damage.
