Tennessee man pleads guilty after asking 14-year-old for sex in Georgia
CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A Tennessee man recently pleaded after asking a minor for sex in Georgia.
Brandon James McGarvey-Rogers used the mobile messaging app SnapChat to send sexual images to a 14-year-old child.
In their conversation, the child stated they were underage to McGarvey Rogers.
He replied to the 14-year-old with sexaully explcit images.
According to the Lookout Mountain District Attorney’s Office, the child came forward to the Ringgold Police Department (RPD) about McGarvey Rogers.
RPD and the East Ridge Police Department worked together to locate McGarvey-Rogers and bring him into custody.
He admitted to knowing the victims age, asking the 14-year-old for sex, and sending sexually explicit images to the child.
“Parents need to know that when you give a child a phone, you don’t give the child access to the
world, you give the world access to your child. Evil does exist and it is coming into our homes to steal
innocence. I’m proud to stand in the gap with our law enforcement partners to protect Catoosa’s kids.
Ringgold Police Department and the East Ridge Police Department did an incredible job on this case.”-District Attorney Clayton Fuller
On May 28, 2025, McGarvey-Rogers pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 years, with 7 of those to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections.
He will serve the remainder of his sentence on probation under strict sex offender conditions.
