Tennessee Tech gives the ‘all clear’ after emergency reported on campus

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – University Police at Tennessee Tech tell Local 8 News that a man considered armed and dangerous was loose on campus causing the school to go on lock down.

The suspect, Marcum Brown, was taken into custody on a warrant for aggravated assault.

Tennessee Technological University reported on its Facebook page at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night that an emergency had been reported on the Cookeville campus.

The university posted, “Emergency reported. Stay inside. Clear halls and stairs. Secure doors. Await Police instructions.”

Then around 9:45 pm. Tuesday night, another Facebook post followed that said, “The condition is all clear. University activities may resume.”
