Tennessee unemployment claims jump 67% over past week

TENNESSEE (WDEF) — Tennessee recently saw a leap in unemployment claims, WalletHub reported. Claims increased more than 67% from the week of June 19 to the week of June 26.

This increase was the third largest increase for that week in the nation.

In addition, unemployment claims during that week rose more than 256% from 2022. This was the largest increase in the country, according to WalletHub.

WalletHub also reported there are currently a total of 6 million unemployed Americans.
