Tennessee’s 2024 Super Tuesday presidential primary nominees announced

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — Secretary of State Tre Hargett on Tuesday announced the names of the presidential nominees for 2024’s Super Tuesday Presidential Primary election.

There are nine republicans running for election to be listed on the ballot and just one democrat, incumbent President Joe Biden.

Here are the nine republicans:

  1. Ryan Binkley
  2. Doug Burgum
  3. Chris Christie
  4. Ron DeSantis
  5. Nikki Haley
  6. Asa Hutchinson
  7. Vivek Ramaswamy
  8. David Stuckenberg
  9. Donald J. Trump

“I encourage these candidates to visit Tennessee and hear the thoughts and concerns of Tennessee voters,” said Secretary Hargett. “I believe if these candidates will follow Tennessee’s lead our nation will be stronger for future generations.”

The office of the secretary of state said Tuesday at noon was the deadline for candidates to file a nominating petition, signed by 2,500 registered voters.

In addition, they added that “One petition was filed by Democratic candidate Dean Phillips. County election commissions will review the signatures to determine if he has met the threshold to be added to the March 5, 2024, ballot.”

Tuesday, December 12 at noon is the deadline to withdraw from the ballot.

Early voting in Tennessee begins on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, and runs Monday to Saturday until Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
