The Grateful Gobbler Celebrates 25 Years of Community Support for the Maclellan Shelter

“Thanksgiving is here, and what better way to celebrate than at the 2024 Gobbler Walk? The community came out today to walk and run in support of a great cause.”

For 25 years The Grateful Gobbler has become a beloved Thanksgiving tradition in, bringing together thousands of people, combining exercise, community spirit, and giving back—and this year, it’s bigger than ever.

“Well, number one, this is a great cause. Number two, I’m getting older, and I need to move my bones. I know the damage I’m about to do with this Thanksgiving meal, so I might as well burn some calories now and set my body up right to enjoy the food I want to eat,” said one of the attendees.

Every penny raised from the Grateful Gobbler Walk will go directly to supporting the Maclellan Shelter for Families. For first-time volunteers like Henry, today is truly meaningful.

“Well, you know, I’m passionate about housing and making sure everyone has a home for the holidays. I think the Maclellan Shelter is an organization that really cares about the people and the community of Chattanooga,” said volunteer Henry.

This year’s Grateful Gobbler is a celebration of 25 years of community, support, and the power of giving back.
