The Longhorn Restaurant on North Market Street prepares to close

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — An iconic Northshore restaurant is getting ready to say goodbye. The Longhorn Restaurant on North Market Street is preparing to close its doors for good.

It will remain open until February 23.

They have lost their lease and made the decision to close with a heavy heart.

Starting Friday, the restaurant will only accept cash transactions.

Susan Danner and her husband say their customers have become family over the past 16 years.

Here is what their customers are saying about the news.

“Oh, they’re not happy,” Susan Danner said. “Many of them have cried, male and female. Asked us what they’re going to do, where they’re going to go… ‘How can we do this?’ Is there anything they can do to help save it? It’s heartbreaking.”

With tears in her eyes, Susan said they were blessed to have their customers in their life.

She says the restaurant would not have made it this long without them.

Longhorn Restaurant has been serving Chattanooga for more than 60 years. The Danners have been the owners of the restaurant for the past 16 years.

They will keep their normal restaurant hours until the day they close.

The owners ask their customers to stop by one more time before the 23rd.
