The Nehemiah Project R3 is helping children “one pack at a time”

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – March 30 is ‘National Pencil Day’ and Chattanooga’s Nehemiah Project R3 has announced they are now an independent nonprofit aimed to provide students school supplies.

Changing lives one pack at a time, the Nehemiah Project R3 is calling on donations to help fill backpacks with school supplies and Bibles. So far, more than 150K backpacks have been given to students across the Tennessee Valley region.

Community members are invited to their 2026 Backpack Chattanooga Pack Day on July 18. Volunteers of all ages will get to pack about 12k backpacks for students across Hamilton, Bradley, Rhea, and Catoosa counties. The backpacks will be handed out during the first week of school.
