The Salvation Army needs volunteers to become bellringers
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga’s Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to serve as bellringers for the Red Kettle Campaign.
The Red Kettle Campaign has been an annual holiday fundraiser since 1891.
It takes place between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
Bellringers stand outside stores and shopping centers to collect donations.
Those donations are used for various programs and services, supporting individuals and families in need.
With these donations, the Salvation Army provides meals, shelter, clothing and other essential items to those in need. The Salvation Army also offers addiction recovery services and Christmas gifts to those in need.
“Our Red Kettle Campaign is a symbol of hope during the holiday season. It brings communities together and helps us fulfill our mission of Doing the Most Good. Volunteers are the lifeblood of this campaign, and we are grateful for their dedication and compassion,” said Major Doug McClure of The Salvation Army Chattanooga Area Command.
