State of Georgia to have 3 weeks of early voting

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – The state of Georgia provides three weeks of advanced voting prior to every general primary or general election. These elections start Monday, February 19.
In Catoosa County, there are two early voting polling spots.
Those locations are:
- Freedom Center: 5238 Evitt Street in Ringgold.
- Westside Voting Precinct: 3319 Lakeview Drive in Rossville.
On election day, however, you must vote at your assigned precinct.
“Well today is the first day of early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary. This is where voters have a chance to choose who they want to represent either the democratic or republican party. It is also a very important ballot for Catoosa County residents, because they are going to decide whether or not to keep SPLOST. Two big things on the ballot,” explained John Pless, Catoosa County Director of Communications.
SPLOST, standing for the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, is one reason many are voting early.
There are any number of reasons a voter might find themselves out of their precinct on election day, which is why advanced voting is essential.
You may choose to vote during the three weeks prior to any election in the state of Georgia.
