Walker Farm hosts annual Pioneer Days

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – History is coming alive during a week-long, once in a lifetime opportunity at the Walker Farm Pioneer Days Festival.

Over 3000 individuals are expected to come together at Audubon Acres to fully immerse in the ways of life dating all the way back to the 1800s. Participants were able to experience sights, sounds, and smells of the time before.

Activities at the festival included opportunities to shell corn, taste apple cider, create toys, and observe a variety of different occupants.

For thousands of years, along the banks of the South Chickamauga Creek, early inhabitants lived a very different way of life.

This festival gave individuals a chance to see how our ancestors once lived. Whether it be washing laundry with a washboard or churning their own butter, individuals were able to fully immerse themselves.

Pioneer Days is tailored to elementary aged children and their families but is beloved by children and their families of all ages.

This hands-on event is set to run through Saturday, November 23rd from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm.
