There is a shortage of milk refrigeration space in smaller stores
Mayfield Dairy has a solution with "Giving Cow"
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Due to the challenge of refrigerating milk, many food pantries just don’t have enough storage to hold all the milk they need.
News 12s Brian Armstrong joins us with how Mayfield Dairy is helping change that.
Milk is one of the most highly requested items but enough refrigerator storage is tough.
Tennessee-based Mayfield Dairy is donating 50,000 shelf-stable “Giving Cow” milks to Chattanooga Area Food Bank for distribution through its network of more than 250 community partners.
The “Giving Cow” packs are single-serve, 8-ounce packs of ultra-high temperature pasteurized milk have a shelf life of up to 12 months, while typically fresh milk has a shelf life of only 20 days.
As far as being viable to last for months but I asked earlier how long well this last you guys and I said I will put it on the computer people started ordering it and will last two or three weeks and will be out. Let’s still do three weeks they’re gonna be able to furnish their customers.
Something they are hoping to do again in the future.
