THP investigating two fatal crashes early Saturday
Tennessee Valley (WDEF) — Two lives were tragically lost in vehicle accidents on Saturday.
Tennessee Highway Patrol and local authorities responded to these separate incidents.
The first one happened just before 5 a.m. this morning on Shiloh Road in Meigs County.
47-year-old Melvin McCoy was killed when the motorcycle he was driving went off the road and hit a tree head on.
McCoy was wearing a helmet according to highway patrol reports.
Then, shortly after 6 a.m. 20-year-old Michael Schirer was killed on Lower River Road in Bradley County.
The young man was driving a Volvo when he lost control on a curve and went off the road and struck a tree.
THP says he was wearing a seatbelt.
