Three Men Arrested for Aggravated Robbery
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Quick thinking citizens and a observant officer helped arrest three armed robbery suspects after an incident at 3318 Mountain View Drive shortly after 4pm yesterday.
Acting on a report of a robbery that had just occurred, Chattanooga Police were informed by a resident of the Mountain View Drive home that he had been contacted by Collin Pritchett, 20, about “getting together.” Pritchett arrived at the residence, along with Gerald Green, 18, and Kevon Johnson, 19. The four men went outside to smoke, and under the guise of retrieving a lighter from the vehicle they had arrived in, Green and Johnson returned armed with guns.
Pritchett, Green, and Johnson held three people at gunpoint at the home and demanded money. After the victims complied, the suspects drove away in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee at a high rate of speed.
Citizens in the area contacted police after noticing suspicious activity around the home and the jeep fleeing. Passing an patrol officer on Cummings Highway en route to the scene, the vehicle was pulled over at 1020 West 37th Street.
The three suspects were found inside the jeep, along with a firearm in plain view. All were charged with Aggravated Robbery.
“When we have community members who pay attention to their surroundings and aren’t afraid to pick up the phone when they see something that appears odd or suspicious, it can make the difference between criminals getting away or getting stopped,” said Assistant Chief Edwin McPherson.
“This was also great work from patrol officers. Their response and keen awareness were the key to apprehending these felons.”
