Three Paddleboarders Rescued from Storm
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Three people got more than they bargained for while paddleboarding on the Tennessee River Wednesday night.
The three women were near the Riverfront on two paddleboards when the area was hit by a strong thunderstorm.
In an attempt to avoid the storm, the three decided to paddle to McClellan Island and call 911.
Firefighters assigned to our fire boat responded and found them very quickly. Lt. Chad Rogers said they appeared to be a little rattled, but were otherwise unharmed.
The firefighters then gave them a ride in the fire boat over to Coolidge Park, where their vehicle was parked.
