Throwback Thursday from the News 12 Archives
From The Archives:
We’ve had a wet week so far, but nothing compared to what we saw 25 years ago.
Constant rain that February caused massive flooding across the Tennessee Valley.
We start with a report from Trion, Georgia, followed by a Special Report on flooding concerns along Chickamauga Creek, a flood report from East Ridge and finally the day after a flash flood on the Conasauga ripped through Copperhill and McCaysville.
People were comparing this flood to the Big One of 1973.

We also have a full page print ad of the News 12 Team in 1976 for you.
They were called TV12 Tri-State Report back then.
And they had just won the November Arbitron Ratings.
The question is do these head shots look more like extras in "Anchorman" or characters in "Welcome Back Carter?"
Ray White and Tommy Eason are still in the area all these years later.
1970’s Flashback 2
And we wrap up our Throwback with a CBS promo from the early 70’s.
In those days, the network would send us photo’s and copy to put in the local newspaper to promote their programs.
Do you remember Barnaby Jones?
"Former Miss America Lee Meriwether stars as Betty Jones, Girl Friday and assistant to veteran private investigator "Barnaby Jones" every Sunday evening on CBS Television.
Buddy Ebsen stars as "Barnaby Jones" in the Quinn Martin Production." (see photo of Meriwether)
If your memory needs more jogging, here is the premier episode from January of 1973.
