Throwback Thursday: New Year’s Polar Plunge from 1993

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – This year, Chattanoogans took the plunge into Lulu Lake on Lookout Mountain on New Year’s Day to raise money for the Samaritan Center.

Over the years, we’ve had several versions of a Polar Plunge to kick off the new year.

We ran this story on the greater Hiwassee Ski team tearing up the Tennessee River on January 1st, 1993.
