Thursday Throwback: Jaycees

Elvis was a Jaycee.

And so was Bill Gates.

But in the old days, you wouldn’t find any women in their ranks.

The organization was founded to bring together men who would be the leaders of tomorrow.

They were all under 40.

But in 1984, The Supreme Court changed all that.

And one local woman tried to become the first female in the Chattanooga Jaycees.
