Tiffanie Robinson latest school board member not seeking another term
Robinson is fourth board member stepping down in 2024
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Hamilton County’s school board is going to look a lot different next year.
Former Board chair Tiffanie Robinson is the latest member to say she will not seek re-election in 2024.
Robinson represents District 4, which includes East Lake, Orchard Knob and the Southside.
“After much consideration, I have decided not to run again for this position,” Robinson said. “After two terms of service, I believe it’s time to let others lead in this important position. Many of you know I was the first in my family to go to college, and I believe in the power of public education to offer every student an opportunity for success. I am dedicated to supporting our youth and schools.”
When she was elected in 2016, Robinson was the youngest woman to ever hold office in Hamilton County.
She is just the latest school board member to decide to step down.
Qualifying for next spring’s elections ends this week.
So far, Rhonda Thurman, Joe Wingate and Marco Perez have all announced they would not run for re-election.
Thurman is the longest serving board member at 20 years.
