Tiger Woods Says He Expects to Play the Masters
Tiger Woods has the green light to chase the green jacket.
He expects to tee it up at the Masters.
It will be Tiger’s first tournament in over a year following his horrible car crash.
Tiger is anxious to return, and apparently he’s still not divulging the secrets to winning at Augusta.
Said Woods:”Well as of right now I feel that I’m going to play.”
Reporter:”You’ve said countless times throughout your career that you don’t enjoy golf tournaments unless you think that you can win. So the question is simple. Do you think you can win the Masters this week?”
Said Woods:”I do.”
Reporter:”And what have you seen in your preparation that leads you to believe that?”
Said Woods:”I can hit it just fine. I don’t have any qualms about what I can do physically from a golf stand point. It’s now walking is the hard part.”
Said Justin Thomas:”Yeah it’s a very difficult course to walk. It’s the toughest of the year. It’s very long. It’s very hilly. Lot of long walks back to tees”
Reporter:”How much physical pain do you have to endure playing golf?”
Said Woods:”Hm. Uh yeah. There is.”
Reporter:”When you reflect on all you’ve been through. On all you’ve overcome. What words do you choose today to now reflect on these 14 months?”
Said Woods:”Thankful. Very, very thankful.”
Reporter:”Tiger seems to be overshadowing everything about this Masters. How do you feel about that?”
Said
Dustin Johnson:”That’s fine.”
Said Rory McIlroy:”We were on the ninth green when Tiger and JT and Freddie teed off yesterday. It was a mass exodus from the 9th green to the first tee. Then the back nine was lovely and quiet.”
Said Jon Rahm:”I think there is only one man in this field that hears advice from Tiger because I’ve asked before, and I get nothing. So you might need to ask Justin Thomas because I’m not it. I have asked him before. I remember asking him at East Lake the year he won. Before we were on the putting green in the practice round. I said hey man. Any tips for Bermuda and this and that. He turned around and just said it’s all about feel. And just kept going. (laughter) I was like cool. Thank you.” (laughter)
