Time to Shine For UTC Women in SoCon Tournament

The UTC women’s basketball team claimed their 20th regular season SoCon title over the weekend, but it’s the league’s tournament title the Mocs covet most.
The winner this week in Asheville punches their ticket to the Big Dance.
Chattanooga has won the SoCon tournament crown the last three years, and it always seems like there’s one player that really steps up big in Asheville.
Last year, the Mocs Jasmine Joyner was the tourney MVP.
Chattanooga head coach Jim Foster says UTC could use another MVP performance to win it all again.
Said Foster-“When the spotlight’s on, real players show up. It’s sort of everybody’s there, everybody’s watching. All the teams in the league are there, all the coaches in the league are there, the fans from every team are there. If you’re gonna shine, it’s the place to shine.”
UTC will open tournament action on Thursday at 4pm against Western Carolina. It will be broadcast on ESPN3.
