CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Children’s Hospital at Erlanger is inviting locals to participate in the annual Tiny Trees program.

The program strives to bring the holiday spirit to pediatric patients.

“Erlanger’s Tiny Trees really brighten up our pediatric hospital rooms, which helps our patients and their families during what is often a very challenging time. I have seen Erlanger’s Tiny Tree program bring so many smiles to our patients over the years, and we look forward to continuing this merry tradition again this year.”

– Lois Simpson, Senior Child Life Specialist said.

Donation information:

Trees must be artificial, new, and no larger than 3 feet tall. Erlanger encourages donors to decorate their donated tree with a theme for a child or teenager, using lights and ornaments (handmade or purchased). Toys, such as dolls or cars, and ornaments, must be securely wired onto trees. Ornaments should not include glass, sharp objects, or choking hazards. Plug-in lights are great, but battery-powered lights are best. Please do not include food items on trees.

Tree donations will be welcome on Thursday, December 4, or Friday, December 5, between 8 AM and 4 PM at the main entrance of Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. Tree donations will only be accepted during the available time and are limited to one per organization, group, or person. If your group would like to make a large donation, please contact Emilia Jones, Director of Volunteer Services & Guest Services.

For more information, contact Emilia Jones at 423-778-7892, or emilia.jones@erlanger.org

Erlanger Child Life Specialists will deliver the Tiny Trees to patient’s rooms in early December.

All patients are encouraged to take their trees home when they leave the hospital, according to Erlanger.
