Titans First Round Draft Pick Caleb Farley Wants to Prove Doubters Wrong
The Tennessee Titans rolled the dice with first round draft pick Caleb Farley.
The Virginia Tech defensive back has plenty of talent, but he played in only 23 games in college. Farley opted out of the 2020 Hokies season for COVID reasons, and he heads to Titans camp with lingering back issues that he hopes don’t ‘Titan Up’.
There are football injuries, and then there are back injuries. Caleb Farley has undergone two back surgeries. One as recent as March 23rd.
Reporter:”Will you be ready to go for training camp?
Said Farley:”I believe so. 100 percent yes.”
Reporter:”Have you been told that you need any additional surgeries or do you think you’re done with that stuff.”
Said Farley:”Yeah that’s completely false. Completely false.”
Reporter:”If you aren’t able to go at training camp, how are you going to deal with that, especially considering you haven’t played in so long.”
Said Farley:”Yeah I rebuke that in the name of Jesus. I expect to be ready.”
And for those who still have doubts about Farley.
Said Farley:”Yeah it’s just frustrating. You get to a point where you want a team to draft you that believes in you, and if you don’t believe in me, you know then play against me.”
As you can see, Farley isn’t afraid to push back on all of the back questions, and he’s ready to accentuate the positive.
Said Farley:”I feel great. I’m a Tennessee Titan. I’m in good health, and I’m extremely excited for the upcoming season. I feel great.”
Reporter:”After 17 months, how excited are you to get on the field and play again.”
Said Farley:”You have no idea. You have no idea. I can’t wait. When they called me, and coach called me to tell me I was going to be a Tennessee Titan. The first thing out of my mouth was when can I get the play book? I’m extremely excited to get back on the field to rep these colors.”
Farley was pretty much a shut down corner at Virginia tech, and he desires to do the same in the NFL.
Said Farley:”You know I’m trying to dominate. I want to be a great corner. I’m going to show up to work every day to try to make that happen. Hopefully I can help the Tennessee Titans win games. I’ve always had a huge chip on my shoulder, so I stay motivated until I hang up the cleats. But looking back, I just smile and I thank God because I never let the Devil get me down one time in that process. This season I’m going to reap the benefits for that.”
