Titans Trade Top Pick in NFL Draft to Rams

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee has sent the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft to the Los Angeles Rams in a swap of multiple draft choices. That sets the stage for the quarterback-strapped Rams to draft one with the top choice. North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz and Jared Goff of California are considered the top prospects.
Titans general manager Jon Robinson worked out a trade where Tennessee got a total of six picks.
They’ll get the Rams 15th overall pick in this year’s draft, plus two second round picks, and a third round pick.
And then next year, the Titans will get the Rams number one draft pick and a third round selection.
For a team that won just three games last year, they need all the picks they can get.
Said Robinson,”It does allow you to cast a little bit of a broader net if you will. We’ve got six picks now that are in the top 76 as opposed to the three had we stuck at our picks. It definitely gives us a chance to strategize if you will with those picks.”
