Today’s Grateful Gobbler check keeps the Maclellan shelter going
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Maclellan Family Shelter received their largest donation of the year today.
Presented by the organizers from Grateful Gobbler, the shelter got a check for 225 thousand dollars.
This money comes from the more than 5-thousand walkers who participated in the Grateful Gobbler event on Thanksgiving.
The donation will help run the shelter for all those in need.
Jens Christensen: “This actually represents the majority of the operating costs for the shelter. So this is a tremendous, this is the largest donation the shelter receives and it’s really been the lifeblood of the operations for the four years we’ve been open and now going into the fifth year.”
This Thanksgiving will be the Grateful Gobbler’s 20th anniversary.
