Toddler drowns on Sand Mountain
CROSSVILLE, Ala. (WDEF) – DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies performed CPR on an infant after an apparent drowning on Wednesday.
It happened at a home on County road 29 in Crossville, Alabama.
Officers found the 20 month old next to a small goldfish pond.
Neither the deputies or paramedics were able to revive the child.
The investigation is ongoing.
Sheriff Jimmy Harris states “This is a tragic accident that has happened and our thoughts and prayers goes out to the family and friends. I would like to thank the DeKalb Ambulance Service, Aroney Fire Department, Alabama State Troopers, DeKalb County Deputies and Investigators for their quick response on the scene.”
