Top Ranked Georgia Expects Another Slugfest Against Rival Florida

Top ranked Georgia dives into the heart of their schedule over the next month, starting with rival Florida.
gators aren’t ranked, but they come into the game with plenty of confidence after a stirring win over South Carolina.

Florida-Georgia. The game defines intensity.
Said Georgia safety Javon Bullard:”This is old fashion hate. Georgia vs Florida. One of the biggest rivalries every.”
Reporter:”What do you kind of tell these young guys as they go into their first experience in this game between you guys and Florida?”
Said head coach Kirby Smart:”Yeah. Welcome to the SEC. I mean every game is going to be a rivalry game when you get in the SEC.”
For Georgia, it’s welcome to facing another good quarterback in the SEC in the Gators Graham Mertz.
Said Smart:”Probably the last two. Two weeks or so. You look at the statistics on their quarterback. He’s probably maybe the number one quarterback in the country for two games in terms of the way he has played.”
Said Bullard:”Their quarterback is playing at a real high level. Guy is completing. I mean Mertz is completing like 76 percent of his passes. That’s crazy.”
Georgia of course will be without stud tight end Brock Bowers, but don’t look for the Dawgs offense to get fancy in his absence.
Said Smart:”You are not going to trick people in our league. They’ve seen every play. It’s not like a new play is going to win you the game. What’s going to win you the game is can you block better than the other team. Can you execute? Can you protect the ball? Can you convert third downs? Can you play well in the red area?”
Georgia enters the border battle on a 23 game winning streak.
To which the Dawgs say…big deal.
Said Smart:”Don’t think about it a lot. What consumes me is how we are going to gain a yard.”
Said Bullard:”We go into every game with the same mindset. Doesn’t really matter how many we’ve won or how many games we’ve lost. We try to go in there and win every game. That’s our motto. Do whatever we can to get the victory.”
