Toyvention volunteers transform toys for kids with special needs
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A group of Chattanoogans is making over some toys for kids with special needs.
Items they can play with are usually expensive, so these folks are using their engineering skills to enhance these regular toys.
They will be donated to the lending library for area families through Signal Centers.
Volunteers says they enjoy taking the toys apart, and putting them back together.
“It’s great to actually have a reason to do this that helps kids. From what I’ve heard, it’s like it can be very therapeutic for the kids. It can be a big, really puts a smile on their face, so I’m excited to see that when all these toys get to those kids,” says Alex Cruikshank, a Toyvention volunteer.
Volunteers adapted 225 toys today.
