Tracy City receives Downtown Improvement Grant
TRACY CITY, Tenn. (WDEF)- A Grundy County town will soon see major improvements to their historic downtown.
Tracy City has received $214,000 from the state of Tennessee’s Downtown Improvement Grant.
This money will go towards building a new courtyard and modernizing the facades around the town.
Mayor Stacie Hutcheson says that for the town of 1,400 residents, getting an investment of this size will propel the community into a new era.
“It is major for our little community. We are rich with history and nature and community as a matter of fact. We are rooted deep in faith, family, and community here. This will be a spot for us all to gather and reconnect with each other,” she said.
Tracy City has also recently received a grant to improve the town’s fire hall as well.
