Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Fort Payne

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WDEF) – A Fort Payne Police Officer writes more than just a traffic ticket after stopping someone for illegally passing a vehicle.

On Sunday, officer Stephen Malone pulled over Marcia Marie Auman on Gault Ave North.

As Auman’s vehicle was being inventoried before being towed, it was determined she had a substantial amount of methamphetamine in the vehicle valued at $1500.00.

In addition to the charges of Driving Revoked, Improper Passing, and No Insurance, Auman was also charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana 1st, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Auman also had $1149 in cash.

She was taken to the Dekalb County Jail and is currently awaiting bond proceedings.
