Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
SCOTTSBORO — The Scottsboro Police Department (SPD) say that a man has been arrested following a traffic stop near South Broad Street and Highway 72.
During the stop, the driver was identified as 46-year-old Glen Michail Womack.
They say while speaking with Womack, they discovered that Womack had an active felony warrant out of Fayette County with statewide extradition.
Officers then located multiple illegal substances and prescription medications both in the vehicle as well as on Womack’s person, the SPD says.
Womack was taken into custody and charged with:
• Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x2)
• Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs
Womack was transported and booked without incident before being transferred to the Jackson County Jail.
