Traffic stop results in two arrests and firearm recovery

 

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Friday, around 8:30 pm, deputies assigned to the Downtown Safety Initiative conducted a traffic stop near the 200 block of Market Street after observing a vehicle speeding southbound.

According to the Hamilton County Police Department the driver, Montez Chubb, was found to be driving on a suspended license.

Four other people were in the vehicle and after searching the vehicle, officers found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine.

One individual, Kenneth Moore, was found to have outstanding warrants for Disorderly Conduct, Vandalism, Evading Arrest, Aggravated Riot, and Reckless Endangerment.

The driver, Montez Chubb, was charged with the following:

  • Speeding
  • Driving on Suspended License
  • Unlawful Carrying or Possessing a Firearm

Both Chubb and Moore were taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
