UPDATE: Train versus vehicle collision on Julian Rd
RINGGOLD, Georgia (WDEF) – Georgia State Patrol responded to a call of train versus passenger vehicle at 2:51 pm in Catoosa County that cost one man his life.
According to Georgia State Patrol, the 63 year-old man was driving a black 2016 Chevrolet Camero north on Front Street.
Georgia State Patrol says that the man passed several vehicles and drove around the train crossing arm when his vehicle was struck by a train.
Then, Georgia State Patrol says that the vehicle became attached to the train and was pushed 1,475 feet before separating from the train and coming to rest in a ditch.
There were no other occupants in the vehicles and no other injuries in the crash according to the Georgia State Patrol.
CATOOSA COUNTY, Georgia (WDEF) – A vehicle and a train have collided on Julian Road, off Graysville Road in Catoosa County.
Fire crews are on the scene now investigating.
