Trash truck iguana finds forever home through McKamey foster
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — An iguana that Chattanooga firefighters help pull off a trash truck has found his forever home through a McKamey foster.
McKamey posted on Facebook that when they took him in, they knew he needed special care.
He received wounds to his face, and his eyes were swollen shut.
Part of his tail was also dying.
McKamey said he was suffering, and they knew he’d do better in a foster home.
His new owner has named the iguana, Maximus, and said they “love working with reptiles.”
The owner also shared they’ve been volunteering and fostering at McKamey since 2015.
Maximus was taken to a local experienced exotic vet for treatment.
Since then, he’s been receiving a blend of Critical Care Herbivore and dark leafy green “smoothies”.
The owner said “his eyes are now open and you can tell he’s feeling so much better!”
