Travel Channel star to speak at Chattanooga Zoo’s Banana Ball

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Zoo’s Banana Ball is upcoming, and they have a special guest planning to attend this year. According to the Zoo’s press release, Dr. Mireya Mayor will be the keynote speaker at the Banana Ball.

Mayor is a primatologist and explorer, as well as the star of Expedition Bigfoot on the Travel Channel. She has been featured in various shows on National Geographic as well.

This year’s ball will take place on September 23.

Lee Towery Catering will be supplying food. There will be an open bar, animal encounters, live animal art and more.

“Banana Ball is Chattanooga Zoo’s largest fundraiser with proceeds going to the $3.9 million Cape of Africa expansion which includes habitats for serval, porcupine and warthog,” the press release said.

Tickets to the Banana Ball are $185 per person. They will go on sale starting August 1 at chattzoo.org.
