Trial set for East Ridge man charged in murder of father
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF)- A man accused of killing his father made another appearance in criminal court Thursday morning.
26 year old Caleb Disterdick has been charged and indicted on two charges of First Degree Murder and Abuse of a Corpse.
This was in relation to a murder on December 19, 2024 on Greenslake Road in East Ridge.
East Ridge Police say they found Disterdick covered in blood after responding to an assault call, and found his father, Jason Disterdick, deceased inside.
This morning, a trial date was selected for July.
His attorney did make one request.
She said, “I think as you recall, he is living out of state and we just want to request that moving forward, absent the pretrial conference and trial obviously, we would for him to appear via Zoom so he doesn’t have to travel so far to come into court.”
That motion was granted for status hearings.
His trial date has been set for next July.
