Trion Running Back Rob Brown Named Georgia HS State Player of the Week

Trion, GA-(WDEF-TV) The Trion Bulldogs are one win away from the best record in nearly 20 years — but they already got a big win Wednesday. Running back Rob Brown was honored as the Georgia High School Player of the Week — after a monstrous 407 yards rushing against Mt. Zion Friday.

Brown rushed for the 17th most yards in Georgia state history and became one of just 21 players to rack up 400 or more in a single game. The six foot back averaged 16 yards a carry versus the Eagles. Brown’s 7 touchdowns in that game is tied for third best in state history.

Said head coach Sean Patrick:”I knew that Rob had a shot to be special, I did. And he had a good year for us last year. But he’s taken his game to another level. His teammates are performing well around him. It’s cool. Do I envision him running for 400 yards? I don’t know. I don’t think I’ve had that happen.”
