Triple shooting and manhunt in Cumberland County

FAIRFIELD GLADE, Tennessee (WDEF) – We’re still waiting on official details on just what happened in Cumberland County where three people were shot.

There were two incidents in the Fairfield Glade residential community, north of Crossville.

The first was a reported home invasion Thursday night.

In that case, a suspect forced their way inside, confronted the residents and fled.

Fairfield Glade Police say they believe the suspect left a handgun behind.

Then on Friday morning, there was a shooting involving multiple victims at another residence in the community.

Officials say one person was killed, and two more seriously injured.

Police got a vehicle description and cornered the suspect in another nearby home.

By 1:30 PM, SWAT negotiators had talked the suspect into surrendering.

But that’s all officials are saying so far.

No identities of the victims or conditions or name of the suspect.

The TBI, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Fairfield Glade Police are investigating.
