Truck carrying sewage crashes, spills on Manufacturers Road

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A septic tanker truck crashed in the Northshore area of Chattanooga on Monday.

Monday morning, the truck was traveling down the off-ramp from U.S. 27 North onto Manufacturers Road when it crashed.

The truck was on its way to a sewage treatment facility.

The crash caused a leak, and around 2,500 gallons of sewage spilled out of the truck, according to Chattanooga firefighters.

First responders took the driver of the truck to the hospital.

Firefighters, Special Ops and Doug Yates Towing & Recovery secured the area and cleaned up the mess.
