TSSAA Board Makes Football Ruling For Lookout Valley and Howard Over Forfeited Games
(press release) The TSSAA Board of Control held a special called meeting on Wednesday, October 30 to hear appeals from schools regarding the status of forfeited football games. The meeting was held via video conference call. The board made two rulings involving Howard and Lookout Valley.
They denied the Howard School’s request seeking a forfeit win over Rhea Co after the Eagles canceled their visit Howard this season over a safety concern. The board requested that
Howard and Rhea County determine whether Rhea County will pay $2000 in financial restitution or to play the next two contests at Howard.
Voted to uphold the postseason ban for Lookout Valley for the current season, but lifted the ban for the remaining two years, which was imposed
as a result of their forfeiting a region game to South Pittsburg High School.
