CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Get ready to pay more for tuition it you attend the University of Tennessee or UTC.
The University of Tennessee’s Board of Trustees has approved tuition increases for the coming fiscal year.
The Trustees say that they are the lowest in 30 years.
In-state tuition will increase no more than 2.2 percent for most undergraduates.
The majority of fees will not increase.
Chuck Cantrell is the Associate Vice Chancellor, for Marketing and Communication at UTC.
“We want to be affordable. We want to be accessible, and part of that is providing a low tuition. And so, we’ve been doing everything we can to become more efficient, tighten our belts, to make sure that our students can pay the lowest tuition we can possibly offer.”
The net increases range from 0 to 3 percent, depending on the campus.
