Two arrested in connection to shooting on Highway 58
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police (CPD) have arrested two males in connection to a shooting on Highway 58 Monday.
At 9:30 p.m., December 9, 2024, CPD responded to a person shot call in the 4400 block of Highway 58.
Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence that a person was shot, and secured the scene.
According to CPD, the victim was transported to a local hospital in a person vehicle.
When officers arrived at the hospital, they located a 19-year-old female who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
CPD’s preliminary investigation reveals the victim was in a verbal argument with the two males, leading to the males pulling guns out and aiming them at the victim.
One of the males, Damien Bennett, fired one shot and struck the victim.
Both males were arrested by CPD’s Neighborhood Policing patrol.
Bennett is being charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, and Tampering with Evidence.
The other suspect, Patrick Bennett, is being charged with Aggravated Assault.
