Two arrested on drug trafficking charges after one-half pound of meth found during traffic stop
CHEROKEE COUNTY — Two women have been arrested on drug trafficking charges after methamphetamine was found during traffic stop, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
They say agents with the CCSO Narcotics Division became aware of a drug trafficker operating within Cherokee County and subsequently opened an investigation.
Through that investigation, agents determined that Loretta Huskins of Andrews was traveling to Georgia to obtain methamphetamine for distribution within Cherokee County.
In coordination with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office (NC), deputies and agents worked closely with the Marietta Police Department (GA).
On June 24, 2026, the Marietta Police Department conducted a traffic stop involving Huskins.
They say as a result of the stop, approximately one-half pound of methamphetamine was recovered from Huskins’ vehicle. Traveling with Huskins was Rose Cathey.
The Marietta Police Department placed both individuals under arrest on drug trafficking charges.
On June 25th, 2026, Agents with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence of Huskins in Andrews.
Agents recovered suspected Methamphetamine, digital scales, and packaging materials from the residence.
