Two Dalton men under arrest for DUI in separate incidents around Interstate 75
Emmanuel Jacobo reportedly got into an accident with injuries; Michael King allegedly showed signs of impairment during a traffic stop
DALTON (WDEF) – Two Dalton men are under arrest for DUI in separate incidents on Interstate 75 in Catoosa County.
Police responded to a crash at Tyler Street at North Hamilton in Dalton, and learned Emmanuel Jacobo fled the scene.
While officers were tending to the victim, one of the officers on scene found Jacobo running up the street.
When asked about what happened, Jacobo reportedly replied “What accident?”
After admitting to drinking at a local bar, Jacobo is now facing several charges, including DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to report an accident with injuries.
According to the police report in Michael King’s case, he was allegedly driving at a high speed, going southbound on I-75 when a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Deputy started a traffic stop.
The deputy says he smelled the strong odor of alcohol on King’s breath.
During field sobriety testing, the report says King showed several signs of impairment, and tested a blood alcohol level of .065.
The deputy arrested King, who is charged with D-U-I and speeding.
